i kinda like it here...

in canada i mean. and, well, living in toronto.

which is why these are the best coasters ever.

designed by the national design collective, these birch cup placemats are laser cut into the shapes of some of canada's best cities: toronto, vancouver, ottawa, winnipeg.

at only $40 (shipping is free!) they make a great gift. you can even contact the company for custom work.

votives that'll light up your night

i love the idea of placing tea lights in these votives to light up my apartment at night. candles give off a soft, subtle, romantic glow i can't resist.

don't like colourful votives (like the ones below from terrain)? try this awesome idea from wit & whistle. vintage glasses as a candle holders? yes, please!

i is for illumination

when it comes to my home, having lots of light is absolutely mandatory. i get all gloomy when trapped in a dark space.

so when natural light is hard to come by (as was the case with my old house), i turn to cool, industrial lighting.

these options are my idea of unique, functional art.
